Nicotine Dependence

Dalewood Health provides patient intake assistance to help you enrol with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health for smokers that wish to quit or reduce their tobacco use.

 

The Nicotine Dependence Clinic offers several specialized outpatient treatments.The clinic offers assessment, medical consultation, group counselling and medications to quit/reduce smoking.

 

The clinic also provides service to clients with concurrent substance use and/or mental illness as well other medical conditions.
 

Treatment offered:

 

  • A psycho-education session on how to develop a quit plan

  • Weekly structured and open ongoing support groups

  • Workshops on various topics such as nutrition, physical activity and other topics promoting overall health

  • Consultation with a physician, nurse and/or pharmacist specializing in tobacco cessation.

 


Contact us or CAMH’s centralized intake line at (416) 535-8501, press 2, to register for the “Getting Started” workshop which provides introductory information and strategies for quitting or reducing tobacco use.

Clients can meet with a therapist to complete an assessment and develop a treatment plan which may include group counselling, additional workshops and/or smoking cessation medications.
